SMORGASBOARDER ARTICLE

The most interesting perspective from all the shapers is the complete disdain for “real jobs” or holidays.  Everyone tests their own product in local (Victorian) conditions and strives for better performance.  Many of  these characters are under represented as pioneers of local surfing, and the expertise (and great sense of humor) is something the “industry” finds hard to replicate. Zak Surfboards has proudly supported local  shapers and glassers, both to produce boards under the Zak Surfboards brand and supporting the individual shapers label.  Smorgasboarder also acknowledges this unique fellowship and have contributed in shining the light on such a creative spot in the worlds surfing community.
