Stacey Machine Head Restock

Stacey Machine Head RestockWe just got a Stacey Machine Head Restock  so there is now in a full size run hanging on our racks here at Zak Surfboards.  Recently added to added to their range – The Stacey Machine Head is Lee Stacey’s update to one of the most popular selling all round shortboards we’ve had in store over the past year – the 5150.  Designed to get the job done in 80% of the conditions the ocean will throw at you – the Stacey Machine Head is a fantastic addition to everyone’s quiver in the right dimensions.  Without doubt, one of the best balanced boards in the shop – put it under your arm and you’ll immediately know what I’m talking about.

Stacey Machine Head Restock Stacey Machine Head Collage 1The Machine Head design features a mid entry rocker for paddle, instant speed off the mark & carry over flatter sections. The outline is super easy on the eye, enough width in the right places and nicely pulled in where it needs to be for all round performance shralping.  This model has a single to double concave bottom with vee running out the tail.   The concaves have been specially tuned in this update from the 5150 to give an even bigger sweet spot.   This new bottom contour also gives this board a nice, safe & settled feeling at high speed and through critical parts of the wave, while still allowing enough lift to make it hold its own in less than ideal conditions.

Stacey 6505 Round Tail

Stacey 6505 Round TailThe Stacey 6505 Round Tail is a performance shortboard shape with a bit of extra spark in the lower end of the wave range.  If you have been looking for a board that revels in small to medium sized waves, that still has all the spark of a high performance whip through turns, then this model is definitely worth checking out.

Stacey 6505 Round Tail Stacey 6505 Round Tail Collage 1One of the key features to the 6505′s performance is the finely tuned rocker.  This model has a lower entry rocker makes for easy paddling and glide through flatter sections.   The rocker through the rest of the board is also fairly low with a late flip through the very last bit of the tail which is the key to keeping it fast, loose and lively to turn.

A neutral single concave bottom has been used for it’s uncompromising speed.  This board really accelerates from the take off, ensuring you generates oodles of momentum off the mark.  Interestingly the concave continues right out the back of the tail (quite possibly the key to its extra spicey feel in small waves) helping water draw quickly though the underside of the board.

Stacey 6505 Round Tail Stacey 6505 Round Tail Collage 2The round tail helps make your turns extra smooth, it also helps to minimize any catching of rails and also gives the board a touch more hold in steeper, critical sections.  The round tail also serves to give this version of the 6505 a slightly bigger wave range than previous versions of this model.

Stacey Return Of The Jam Model

Stacey Return Of The Jam ModelWe have a full size run of the Stacey Return Of The Jam Model hanging in store on our racks at the moment.  The Stacey Return Of The Jam  or ROTJ is a specialized small wave model designed to motor where other boards struggle.  This model features a fairly flat deck which helps it hold some extra foam that provides more paddle, improved glide and stability under foot.

Stacey Return Of The Jam Model Stacey Return Of The Jam Model Collage 1The bottom contour is a sweet combination of concave for plenty of lift and speed with a decent helping of vee through the tail.  This bottom shape coupled with a fairly flat rocker and  wide tail block means that the ROTJ generates speed  easily in waves with very little push.  The vee through the fins helps with the quicker transitions that small wave surfing requires – making the board easier to roll from rail-to-rail and allowing it to draw tighter arcs on small wave faces .  The Stacey Return Of The Jam Model comes as standard with five fin plugs for versatility and is a very fun board for any level of surfer in the right dimensions.

Stacey Surfboards on our racks

Stacey Surfboards on our racksWe always hold a decent selection Stacey Surfboards on our racks here at Zak Surfboards Lee Stacey prides himself on developing top level crafts for the everyday surfer all the way up to the world’s elite – driven to deliver the highest quality product available so you can get the most out of your equipment.  Stacey Surfboards are one of the most popular brands that we stock – with a very loyal following with quite a number of our regular customers, these board never hang around for long on our racks. Here is a run down of a few of  the models we have in store at the moment:

Stacey Surfboards on our racks - Stacey 6505 by Zak Surfboards

The Stacey 6505 is a performance shape with a bit of extra spark in the lower end of the wave range – this model definitely gives you a bit of go in more marginal conditions.

The lower entry rocker makes for easy paddling and glide through flatter sections.   The rocker through the rest of the board is also fairly low with a late flip through the very last bit of the tail keeping things fast, loose and lively to turn.

A neutral single concave bottom keeps this board fast, really generating speed quickly off the mark.  Interestingly the concave continues right out the back of the tail (quite possibly the key to its extra spice in small waves) helping draw water quickly though the underside of the board.

The Return of the Jam

Stacey Surfboards on our racks - Stacey Return of the Jam by Zak SurfboardsThe Stacey Return Of The Jam,  is one of the new small wave specialists in the Stacey Surfboards Range.  A revised version for 2016 of a model from a few years back called ‘the Summer Jam’. This model has a fairly flat deck for control and stability under foot.  The bottom contour is a sweet combination of concave with vee through the tail – this helps help generate speed in waves with very little push and aids quick transitions from rail-to-rail and tighter arcs on this short wide disc like outline .  With five fins for versatility this really is a very fun board for any level of surfer in the right dimensions.

The Neptune’s Ride

Stacey Surfboards on our racks - Stacey Neptune's Ride by Zak SurfboardsThe Stacey Neptune’s Ride has been a real winner with a lot of our regulars – the sort of board you can throw in the car and ride no matter the conditions… a real no brainer for Vicco.

Nice and drivey to surf, this is a board that performs equally well in weaker waves or on days with a bit more juice. Not only does the Neptune’s Ride paddle really well for its size, but also trims across flat sections with speed. The curvy outline, tidier tail and beautifully matched rocker allows you to put a bit of grunt into your turns -  So you can carve with power and sit nice and tight in the pocket of steeper more critical waves without spinning out.

On the cards for 2016

On the cards for 2016At Zak Surboards we have a bunch of stuff on the cards for 2016.  To start off the year we have a large restock of new surfboards on the way to top up our supplies after such a busy December period.  Missing sizes in many of the models we have on the floor will be replenished shortly.   There are also a bunch of  exiting new models that we will be adding to our range & some radical new construction options on our racks too.

On the cards for 2016 aIn the short term, we have full size runs of the JS Blak Box II in the HYFI construction arriving in the next week or so.  Also we have a full size run of the Stacey Surfboards Return of the Jam which hopefully should be in store early next week.  In addition have some fresh stock DHD, the Fox model from ACSOD, more from Firewire (including some rumored additions to their lineup that just arrived in Australia) and some potential new models from …Lost Surfboards and Chilli as well.

On the cards for 2016 cLater this coming year we also plan on reinvigorating our surfboard import program, sourcing some high quality product for you direct from the home factories from some of the better shapers in the world outside of Australia.  Full quivers of step ups from Hawaiian master craftsman Eric Arakawa are planned for our racks closer to the good wave/Indo season, also full size runs of several Sharp Eye Surfboards models are going to be ordered shortly plus some potential quivers from other USA & Hawaiian shapers too.  If you are interested in grabbing a custom from either of these brands get in contact with us promptly (email Damien zaksurfboards@gmail.com) & we should be able to organize one to be shipped with our boards for the shop.

Stacey 6505 now instore

Stacey 6505 now instoreWe now have a full size run of the new Stacey 6505 now instore. Pegged as a performance shape with a bit of extra go in the bottom end – this model will definitely give you a bit of extra spark in more marginal conditions over the coming warmer months.

Stacey 6505 now instore Based off the Stacey 5150 (one of our best selling all rounders in the past 6 months), this new model features a low rocker throughout with extra flip right at the back of the tail.

The lower entry rocker makes for easy paddling and glide through flatter sections.  Boards with flatter nose rocker can be a touch catchy off the top, but there is still enough nose flip in the 6505 to stop you from pearling during critical maneuvers in more pockety parts of the wave. The rocker through the rest of the board is also fairly low with a late flip through the very last bit of the tail.  The lower rocker helps keep you moving on the weaker and flatter parts of the wave, but the flip through the tail keeps things fast, loose and lively to turn.

Stacey 6505 collage 1 IMG_6927 Stacey 6505 collage 2A neutral single concave bottom keeps this board fast, really generating speed quickly off the mark.  Interestingly the concave continues right out the back of the tail (quite possibly the key to its extra spice in small waves) helping draw water quickly though the underside of the board.

Stacey 6505 now instore The 6505 also features a vee shaped deck with a low boxy rail.  This allows a touch of extra foam to be distributed throughout the shape and a more forgiving rail shape without without the board feeling boatier under foot.

Stacey Neptune’s Ride

Stacey Neptune's Ride 1We just got more of the Stacey Neptune’s Ride in stock at Zak Surfboards.  This has been a real winner with a lot of our regulars – the sort of board you can throw in the car and ride no matter the conditions… a real no brainer for Vicco.

Compared to your standard shortboard, the  wide point in the outline of the  Stacey Neptune’s Ride has been pushed forward of the middle of the board – this keeps it nice and drivey to surf, when compared to other shorter wider surfboards. Extra foam has been added under the chest area, making this board not only paddle really well for its size, but also trim across flat sections with speed.

Stacey Neptune's Ride 2The curvy outline and tidier tail allows you to put a bit of grunt into your turns than most shorter wider boards -  So you can carve with power and sit nice and tight in the pocket of steeper more critical waves without spinning out. This board also has a five fin plug set-up to give you the option of surfing it as a Quad or Tri fin.

Stacey Neptune's Ride 3This Stacey Neptune’s Ride has a deeper concave and slightly more rocker than similar shapes (DHD Black Diamond & Hayden Shapes Hypto Krypto) which when coupled with the subtle rolled vee through the last part of the tail, keep your surfing on rail.
