The DHD XRS Model is small wave fun distilled in foam and fibreglass . A finely tuned design perfected by Darren Handley with his stellar team of test pilots on the Gold Coast. This model features a nice full outline, with a relatively flat rocker line – with just enough flip strategically placed in the nose & tail to fit into those super tight small wave transitions. This little board has about as much high performance potential as you can squeeze out of a groveller and is sure to make even the most marginal waves fun.
We have the DHD the Twin model on our racks at Zak Surfboards. A super fun, user friendly shape that draws influence from the classic twin fin shapes from the 80s made famous by Mark Richards. A great board for a variety of skill levels - it is a shape that in the right dimensions, will work well for intermediate up to the advanced level surfers. If you are bored with more conventional shapes or want something fun for average days, definitely check this model out!!
The bottom shape of this board is flat in the front end for increased speed and less stickiness – a slight single concave runs through the guts which feeds into a deeper to double with a vee through the last part of the tail. There is a small single channel that runs off each of the side fins for extra drive.
Underfoot, this is a super fun speedy shape to ride with great maneuverability – tailor made for surf from the 0.5 to 4 foot mark. The amount of lift and speed this shape generates, really does a lot of the work for you when the waves are gutless. The twin fin set up allows the rider to draw super tight arcs on on smaller wave faces, or use that turning ability to get a bit more creative & draw some different lines in better waves.

We have a bunch of epic Twin Fin Surfboard Models in store at the moment at Zak Surfboards. If you have been thinking about going twin there are quite a few different ones you can choose form hanging on our racks in store.
First off and probably the most regular short board-like is the DHD Twin Fin. A super fun, user friendly shape that draws influence from the classic Mark Richards shapes from the 80s. A great board for a variety of skill levels - it is a shape that in the right dimensions will work well for intermediate up to the advanced level surfers. Bored with more conventional shapes? Something fun for average days? Love 80s twins but would love something a little more contemporary? Definitely check this model out!!
Next up is probably the most traditional of the bunch – it’s the Zak Twin Fin Fish. This model is Zak’s take on a classic twin keel fin fish design. Plenty of foam up front for paddle power and float – this tapers down to a relatively sharp refined rail through the tail. The finer rail through the tail keep you engaged in the wave face, providing much needed bite and control at high speed and in steeper parts of the wave. One of the funnest boards you will ever surf, with speed to burn and great maneuverability. A great board to ride, in even in the weakest & mushiest conditions!
Finally & probably sitting somewhere between the previous two models is the DHD Mini Twin. Designed as a collaboration between DHD team rider Asher Pacey & Darren Handley. Based on a classic keel-fin fish outline but bought into the present with some distinct modern tweaks.
The modern influence can be seen most prominently in the bottom contour of this board - with a slight single to double concave running through the guts of the shape with vee out the tail. This concave into vee gives you a great combination of speed, lift and smooth, clean & easy rail to rail transitions. This shape screams fun and personally I cant wait for us to get our demo so I can take one for a spin;)
On a Twin Fin you’ll skate where others sink, carve while others crab – fun times indeed… come and check these models out in store or browse our full collection of new surfboards, individually listed & photographed ONLINE
We finally have the DHD Mini Twin in store at Zak Surfboards. Designed as a collaboration between team rider Asher Pacey & Darren Handley. Based on a classic keel-fin fish outline with a few modern tweaks. The wide point is definitely front of center in the outline of this shape, the rocker is fairly low and there is quite a lot of volume forward, with a thinned our tail that has a nice sharp edge. All these elements are very much in keeping with classic fish designs.

A beaked nose has been used in this design which helps to carry a bit of extra volume forward into the nose which helps with glide and paddle power . The beak design also allow the shape to keep thickness in the nose and maintain a flatter rocker line through the front end of the board (because you don’t have to kick up the rocker from the bottom to meet the nose like you do in most contemporary designs).
Designed with waves 1-4ft in mind – this shape screams fun and personally I cant wait for us to get our demo so I can take one for a spin;) Come in store and check the DHD Mini Twin model out in person or view this and the rest of our range of DHD Surfboards individually listed ONLINE
We have a full run of the DHD Skeleton Key model in store on our racks at Zak Surfboards. A forgiving performance short board that in the right dimensions can be ridden by surfers of all skill levels from intermediate to pro.
This DHD Skeleton Key model has proved itself to be a great performer for a lot of our staff and customers since it’s release late last year. Expertly incorporating high performance features with more forgiving elements to give you a fast and responsive feel with sharp turning ability – that is relatively easy to surf.
This DHD Skeleton Key model has a fairly full outline with extra thickness and area in the nose that draws back smoothly before a slight flyer/hip into a round tail . The flyer/hip has been added to the outline to give the rail a distinct break, this acts as both a pivot point to turn off as well allowing for the tail to pull in reducing the area behind it. Less tail area behind the flyer/hip gives you more grip, control and ultimately better performance in and around the pocket. The round tail give you nice smooth turns and a touch more hold in steeper parts of the wave.
Mid to low rails have been used in this model to add sensitivity and bite to the generous dimensions. A relatively smooth low to mid rocker combined with a choice amount of single to double concave ensuring that this shape has speed and lift off the bat, with great paddling and easy wave entry thanks to a lower nose curve.
